2018 09 02

There is an important meeting of the clergy of the diocese with Bishop Bill on Thursday, September 6th. Please pray about committing yourself to prayer and fasting for this meeting from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays leading up to this meeting. Thank you.

And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Matthew 5:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us be disciples who come to Jesus.

Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: Matthew 5:2 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me hear and receive your teaching.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, bless my poverty of spirit with entering into your kingdom.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 (NKJV)
Jesus, bless my mourning so that I receive your Comforter.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 (NKJV)
Father, bless my humility so that I inherit your kingdom.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6 (NKJV)
Father, bless my hunger and thirst for righteousness so that I may be filled and fill others.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, bless us with a spirit of mercy toward others so that we may receive mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, bless me with purity of heart so that I may see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 (NKJV)
Father, bless me with being a peacemaker so that I may be called your child.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for the hard blows of life, for I have found your righteousness in them.

"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Matthew 5:11 (NKJV)
Jesus, bless me with freedom from fear of what others think and say of me.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:12 (NKJV)
Holy Trinity, One God, let this be a day of rejoicing and exceeding gladness in you. Thank you.

A Word Received: Come to me. I Am waiting for you. There is nothing to fear.
