2018 09 24

Pray for wisdom and discernment for Bishop Bill, that like Esther he will make the right choice to save this diocese.

while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luke 3:2 (NKJV)
Lord, let your word come to people here and now

And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, Luke 3:3 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, let those who receive your word go forth with it and speak it to others so that there will be the fruit of repentance.

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. Luke 3:8 (NKJV)
Father, please help me place my full confidence in you.

Then tax collectors also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Teacher, what shall we do?" Luke 3:12 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us ask this question of you: "Teacher, what shall we do?"

When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. Acts 18:5 (NKJV)
Jesus, compel us by your Spirit to testify that you are the Christ.

Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city." Acts 18:9-10 (NKJV)
Lord, when we are afraid, speak words of comfort to us as you did Paul.

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us hearken to your call in these troubled times in the church.

For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding. Psalm 47:7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us sing God's praises with understanding.

A Word Received: Minister to the lost and lonely.
