2010 10 17

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. Luke 9:1 (NKJV)
     Lord, please help us use the authority you give us.

He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:2 (NKJV)
     Holy Spirit, please help us preach the kingdom and heal the sick.

And He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. Luke 9:3 (NKJV)
     Father, help us depend on you for each day's bread and provision.

And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. Luke 9:10 (NKJV)
     Holy Spirit, help us have times of checking in with Jesus.

So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. Luke 9:17 (NKJV)
     Jesus, thank you for providing for us.

When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their desire, putting out to sea, they sailed close by Crete. Acts 27:13 (NKJV)
     Lord, keep us from the deception of "soft winds".

So the captain came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish." Jonah 1:6 (NKJV)
     LORD, let the sleepers in the church awake and pray.

Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly. And he said: "I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, and He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice. Jonah 2:1-2 (NKJV)
     Jesus, please help me cry out to you in my affliction.

The wicked prowl on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men. Psalm 12:8 (NKJV)
     Have mercy on us, Jesus.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD? Psalm 14:4 (NKJV)
     Have mercy on us and protect us, Jesus.

A Word Received: You are in my care. Turn to me when you are anxious. I will defend you and care for you.
