2018 10 04

And some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?" But Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?" And He said to them, "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath." Luke 6:2-5 (NKJV)
Jesus, be Lord of my Sabbaths.

Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him. Luke 6:6-7 (NKJV)
Lord, we get so twisted up on what is right and wrong.

But He knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, "Arise and stand here." And he arose and stood. Then Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?" Luke 6:8-9 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help ask ourselves in our Sabbaths if they are set aside for your good.

And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. But they were filled with rage, and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus. Luke 6:10-11 (NKJV)
Father, please help us recognize how ungodly our rage is.

Hear the word of the LORD, You children of Israel, for the LORD brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: Hosea 4:1a (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us know the charge you bring against us.

"There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. Hosea 4:1b (NKJV)
Father, bring us to truth and mercy and knowledge of you.

Therefore the land will mourn; and everyone who dwells there will waste away with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air; even the fish of the sea will be taken away. Hosea 4:3 (NKJV)
LORD, the land mourns because of the promiscuity that is now established by law and more is to come.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)
Father, please help us remember your law and your ways.

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 130:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, I cry out to you for your church. Have mercy on us and help us return to you and your ways, to the faith once for all given to the saints. Thank you.

A Word Received: Look to me for help in the storm that is coming.
