2018 11 30

Please pray for Bishop Bill, the Standing Committee, and the clergy and laity of this diocese as we cope with the decisions of the Episcopal General Convention.

Father, please put on all of us the shoes of the preparation to share the gospel of peace; gird our loins with your truth; put on us the breastplate of righteousness, and the helmet of salvation. Place on our arm the shield of faith with which to quench every fiery dart of the evil one; and place in our hand the sword of your Spirit which is your word; that having stood all, we might yet stand. Finally, help us to be strong in Jesus and in the power of his might, and cast off from us the chains of apathy that keep us from speaking boldly as we ought to speak. Thank you. (See Ephesians 6:10-20)

And it came to pass, when He came near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, "Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you loosing it?' thus you shall say to him, 'Because the Lord has need of it.' " Luke 19:29-31 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me follow Jesus' directions.

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: "'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" Luke 19:37-38 (NKJV)
Father, please help us join in this rejoicing at Jesus' coming.

Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. Romans 15:7 (NKJV)
Jesus, please let my home be a haven of peace and blessing for all who enter here.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NKJV)
God of hope, fill us with your joy and Holy Spirit.

And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in both summer and winter it shall occur. Zechariah 14:8 (NKJV)
LORD, let your living waters flow through us.

Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV)
LORD, lead us and guide us in your way of salvation.

A Word Received: Walk with me on my path; I will direct your footsteps.
