And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. Mark 8:31 (NKJV)
Lord, you are being rejected by the chief priests and elders of the Episcopal Church today; have mercy on us.

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:34-37 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me give up all to follow you.

For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 1 Corinthians 9:19 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me to be your servant.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me run to receive the prize of eternal life with Jesus.

Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; they speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the LORD. They continually say to those who despise Me, 'The LORD has said, "You shall have peace" '; and to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say, 'No evil shall come upon you.' " Jeremiah 23:16-17 (NKJV)
Father, protect your people from the folly of listening to false witnesses.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 118:1 (NKJV)
Thank you, Father, for your enduring mercy.

A Word Received: Look to me and not to the world for wisdom.
