And when Herodias' daughter herself came in and danced, and pleased Herod and those who sat with him, the king said to the girl, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." He also swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom." Mark 6:22-23 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, set us free from vain and foolish oaths.

And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. at Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily. Acts 16:4-5 (NKJV)
Holy Spirt, help the churches in this region receive your word and be strengthened in faith and increase in number.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Healing a Woman's Soul, Inc. (HAWS), a Christian Ministry to help heal women who are victims of domestic violence, is again offering a number of free scholarships ($120) to our 11th annual overnight retreat for women who have been hurt or abused. This year the retreat, Healing a Woman's Soul: Tools for Recovery, will focus on the importance of building a spiritual foundation and using tools such as prayer and stories to sustain a healing journey.
The retreat will be held from Friday, September 6, 2019 at 7:00 PM to early evening (after dinner) on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Dominican Retreat Center in Niskayuna. The retreat is open to all women but would be especially beneficial to those who are addicted or victims of domestic violence.

Our retreat team has over 20 years experience in the field of ministry, substance abuse, counseling, law and teaching. Our team consists of Rev. Sally Heiligman, Priest at Grace Church, Mohawk, Rev. Karen Clancy, Associate Minister at Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, Albany, Patti Gibbons, lay minister, St. Stephen's Church in Delmar, Rev. Leslie Groneman, gifted crafter, and deacon at Christ Church, Coxsackie and Rev. Anne Curtin, HAWS Chaplain.

Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis so your prompt response is appreciated. Please make sure to mark if a full or partial scholarship is requested on the application form. We anticipate women not receiving full or partial scholarships to attend, but the names of scholarship recipients remain confidential. The Scholarship covers meals, including Saturday dinner and lodging. Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation; however, the Retreat Center is located near public bus lines. Attached is a brochure with additional information about our ministry, and registration form. This information will soon be available on our website at

Please note two new clarifications to our registration form. The Retreat Center is scent-free and asks that all leave their perfume, powder, scented lotions, and soaps, etc. at home for the comfort of other attendees and staff with severe allergies. They also ask that those with specific dietary needs, i.e., allergies, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. indicate that on the form so that the chef has time to provide appropriate food. For example, anyone attending who has a nut allergy, please indicate if it is airborne or only when ingested.

Registrations should be received no later than Wednesday August 28, 2019. Thank you for your attention to our request. We are holding your ministry in our prayers. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 518- 439-8574 {w/answering machine}.
