2019 10 05

Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Matthew 8:23-24 (NKJV)
Lord, a great storm is come upon your church and this diocese.

Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" Matthew 8:25 (NKJV)
Lord, save us! We are perishing!

But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:26 (NKJV)
Jesus, we give you our fears and trust in your provision for us. Bring us to that place of calm.

nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 1 Corinthians 10:9-10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us repent of grumbling.

'For I will defend this city, to save it for My own sake and for My servant David's sake.' " 2 Kings 19:34 (NKJV)
Father, defend this diocese and save it.

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Psalm 63:1-2 (NKJV)
O God, I thirst for more of you.

A Word Received: Come to me; let me fill your cup.

CITY MISSION PRAYER TABLE, Torre Bissell and Chuck Rinaldo, October 3, 2019
+ received cross
P – 100 Promises
Dave – A volunteer in the kitchen thanks the Lord for all the help he has gotten at the Mission and for all the good work that the Mission does. He also asked that the results of his prostrate test come back indicating he has no problems.
Devon came by to say hello and to have a quick prayer of blessings and thanksgiving.
+ Peter – He asked for prayer for good health, and he also asked for prayer that the people at the Mission would make full use of all the resources available at the Mission to better their lives.
+ Jody – He asked for prayer for a better job, one that will pay better and also give him a feeling of satisfaction.
P+ Isaiah – He is asking God to direct his life to make the right decisions, and also to be able to work with people in a positive way and not to be critical. Isaiah rededicated his life to Jesus and asked for His help to stay away from drugs and give him the strength to resist temptation.
++ Shirley – She asked that we pray for a very young man from the community, for his protection. She got an extra cross to give to him, which he accepted, but he refused to have prayer. We pray that the Holy Spirit touch his heart and let him know how much Jesus loves him.
Dave – He asked for continued prayer to help him stay with his rehabilitation program; also that he will be able to stay clean for his daughters wedding. He is going for a job interview to demonstrate his prep ability in a commercial kitchen, we pray he stay focused and that he will show his abilities for the job.
Steven (or Stephen?) - He is preparing to take a 5 hour written drivers test and is a little nervous. We pray for total recall during the exam and for God's peace to fill him with confidence to pass the exam in his next steps in getting a driver's license.
++ Two different men asked for a cross. We pray that the cross (as a symbol) will remind them of its true meaning and the sacrifice that it represents.
Steven (our Jewish acquaintance) stopped by for conversation. Pray that Jesus will reveal Himself to Steven.
+ Veronica – She is at a crossroad and needs to make a decision about what her next steps will be. We pray that God reveal Himself to her as her sure foundation and to trust in Him to give her Godly discernment that will lead her into an abundant life.
