But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying: 'We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not lament' Matthew 11:16-17 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, this is our generation: we expect you to dance to whatever in currently politically correct. Haver mercy on us and bring us back to you.
Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: Matthew 11:20 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, bring your church to repentance.
Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. 1 Corinthians 15:34 (NKJV)
Father, awaken us to your righteousness.
However I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, "Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!" But they did not listen or incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods. So My fury and My anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.' Jeremiah 44:4-6 (NKJV)
Father, help us listen to your word and change our behavior, for there is a desolation coming upon your church if we do not change.
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all who were carried away captive, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon: Jeremiah 29:4 (NKJV)
LORD, you church and your people are being carried away captive; have mercy on us.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. Psalm 57:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, you are my shelter and I take refuge under the shadow of your wings.
A Word Received: Keep crying out to me for my people.
