2019 11 03

This image reminds me of something that took me years to learn and that I have to keep re-learning: I am not the provider; Jesus is. I have to keep coming back to that simple truth.

Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Luke 12:22-23 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me remember the examples Jesus gives.

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Luke 12:24-26 (NKJV)
Father, please help me give you me anxieties.

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? Luke 12:27-28 (NKJV)
     Jesus, you are my provider.

And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. Luke 12:29-30 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for knowing my every need.

But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:31-32 (NKJV)
Father, help me seek your kingdom so that your will may be done.

Then I said, "What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies? Nehemiah 5:9 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us recognize and repent of any evil we are doing.

For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:11-14 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for your lovingkindness toward me.

A Word Received: Look to me and not to man for deliverance from those who oppress you.
