Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. "By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you this authority?" Mt 21:23 (NIV)
Holy Spirit, please help the chief priests and elders of the Episcopal Church submit to the authority of Jesus.
"What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' "'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. "Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go. "Which of the two did what his father wanted?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him. Mt 21:28-32 (NIV)
Jesus, help us make the choice to obey our Father in heaven.
Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. 2Pe 3:1-2 (NIV)
Holy Spirit, stir up in us a remembrance of all that you have spoken through the holy prophets.
My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not slipped. Ps 17:5 (NIV)
LORD, keep my feet steady on your path; don’t let me slip.
A Word Received: Look to me when evil appears to triumph; I will win the victory by my cross and resurrection.
