2020 01 21

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. John 5:1-4 (NKJV)
Jesus, so many of us have our personal Bethesdas where we wait for your healing word.

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" John 5:5-6 (NKJV)
Jesus, I do wait to be healed. I have waited a long time. Come soon, Jesus.

The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." John 5:7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, raise up people who will move us into your pools of healing.

Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. John 5:8-9 (NKJV)
Father, please help me walk in Jesus’ freedom and at his word.

But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." John 5:17 (NKJV)
Holy Trinity, One God, continue working in my life.

But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. Hebrews 9:7-8 (NKJV)
LORD, help me enter the holiness of your presence.

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward." Genesis 15:1 (NKJV)
Father, please help us enter into you promises to Abraham.

For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding. Psalm 47:7 (NKJV)
God, help me sing your praises with understanding.

Walk about Zion, and go all around her. Count her towers; mark well her bulwarks; consider her palaces; that you may tell it to the generation following. Psalm 48:12-13 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us tell the next generation what you have done.

A Word Received: Listen to me; listen for my word to you. When I speak to you follow me where I lead you.
