2020 02 11

Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, John 8:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us examine our own motives when we bring sinners to you.

they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. John 8:4 (NKJV)
Father, we are so self-righteous: where is the man if she was caught in the act?

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." John 8:7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us truly examine ourselves.

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17 (NKJV)
LORD, I pray for those who are set in authority over us in church and state. Guide them and direct them.

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 (NKJV)
Jesus, make me complete in you in what I do.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him. Genesis 26:12-14 (NKJV)
     Father, prosper our ways.

And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, "For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land." Genesis 26:22 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us dig wells of peace.

But He made His own people go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock; and He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. Psalm 78:52-53 (NKJV)
Father, help us go forth at your bidding.

He also chose David His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds; from following the ewes that had young He brought him, to shepherd Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance. so he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands. Psalm 78:70-72 (NKJV)
Jesus, raise up faithful shepherds over your people in our day. Thank you.
