Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed. John 18:27 (NKJV)
I pray for those who deny Jesus, that they will return as Peter did and strengthen their brethren.
Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:1-2 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, restore the unity of this diocese.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7 (NKJV)
Father, help us humble ourselves as Jesus did.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, Philippians 2:9 (NKJV)
Jesus, yours is the name above every name.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Proverbs 27:6 (NKJV)
Lord, heal the wounds we inflict on one another. Don’t let us be deluded by the enticements of the evil one.
I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Psalm 9:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me tell of all that Jesus has done for me.
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9 (NKJV)
LORD, I cry out to you for the oppressed. Hear their cry and help them.
LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; he who does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honors those who fear the LORD; he who swears to his own hurt and does not change; he who does not put out his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved. Psalm 15 (NKJV)
Holy Father, help us come into your presence.
A Word Received: Do not be dismayed by evil, rather choose to do what is right and good.
PT/MCCF Report, St. Ann's Amsterdam, February 17, 2020
DEACON ALAN and DEACON MARYCAROL -- We did not have a Prayer Table set up on Monday, Feb. 17, for the simple reason that we have discovered over the years that when there is a Monday holiday such as yesterday, people do not come to the church for the prayers, food and clothing we offer. However, we DID go to the Montgomery County Correctional facility in the evening with volunteer Jeff Newell joining us to help with the Services From the Reserved Sacrament.
We had 13 men show up for the three pod services. However, no women attended their service this week. (There are currently only four female inmates incarcerated there.) The services were reverent and the inmates took part and had some good questions and opinions about the readings. All took communion and most of the men offered their own individual prayers when it came time at the conclusion of each service to form a circle, join hands and pray together.
Please pray for these inmates who requested your intercessory prayers for them and their noted family members: Steven, The Prevost family, Rob (and Carol, Alice, Sophia and Madeline), John, Dennis, Michael, Neville (and Ariana.)
God bless you all!
