Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you." Jn 20:19 (NKJV)
We are also locked in by our fears of what others will say. Jesus, enter into our confinement with your peace.
When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jn 20:20 (NKJV)
Jesus, show yourself to us and help us see the cost of your cross.
So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." Jn 20:21 (NKJV)
Jesus, pronounce your benediction on us as well.
And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22 (NKJV)
Jesus, breathe on us and help us receive more of your Holy Spirit.
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent? Isa 51:9 (NKJV)
Father, put on us your full armor.
Are You not the One who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; That made the depths of the sea a road For the redeemed to cross over? Isa 51:10 (NKJV)
Father, please help us cross over out of bondage into your freedom.
So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 51:11 (NKJV)
Jesus, by your cross and resurrection you have paid for our ransom. Thank you.
A word received: Come, take my yoke upon you so that you carry on my kingdom work.
