1 "These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. John 16 (NKJV)
Jesus, keep us from stumbling as today’s Sadducees seek to force us out of fellowship with faithful Christians in the Anglican Communion.

3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. John 16 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help those who have not known Jesus to know him and the Father.

4 But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. John 16 (NKJV)
Jesus, you have warned us there will be hard times; keep us from shrinking back from the trials that come our way.

5 "But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?' 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. John 16 (NKJV)
Father, ease the sorrows of our hearts.

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16 (NKJV)
Holy Helper, come upon us, we need you more than ever.

8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: John 16 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, do your work of conviction and righteousness in our hearts.

13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled." 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 1 Peter 3 (NKJV)
Holy Jesus, help me share the hope that is in my heart.

29 See! For the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day." 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. Exodus 16 (NKJV)
Father, help us find our rest in you this Sabbath.

7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him-- 8 For the redemption of their souls is costly, And it shall cease forever-- Psalm 49 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for paying the cost of our redemption by your cross and resurrection.

A Word Received: I Am here among you; look to me for rest and refreshment.
