5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, Matthew 1 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for including Rahab the prostitute and Ruth the foreigner in Jesus’ genealogy. If you can use them, then you can use me.

1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, the American church has become a wilderness; send forth witnesses to call us to repentance.

3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.' " Matthew 3 (NKJV)
Jesus, raise up voices crying in the wilderness making your paths straight.

4 And John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him Matthew 3 (NKJV)
It doesn’t matter how we are clothed, authentic preaching will bring people to you, LORD. “Great sermons bring praise to the preacher, great preaching brings praise to the savior”

6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. Matthew 3 (NKJV)
Jesus, baptize your church with your Holy Spirit. “Renew in our day the wonders of your Pentecost.” (John XXIII)

1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. 1 Peter 5 (NKJV)
Jesus, shepherd of our souls, raise up faithful shepherds among us to tend the flock.

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 1 Peter 5 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, clothe us in humility under the mighty hand of God.

7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:(NKJV)
In this time of contagion, Jesus help us cast all our cares on you, for you care for us.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5 (NKJV)
Beloved savior, protect us from the evil one.

A word received: Remember those in prison and those in need. They are my children as well.
