2020 06 23

14 When the hour had come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 15 Then He said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." Luke 22:14-16 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, give us Jesus’ fervant desire to share this meal with us.

17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this and divide it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." Luke 22:17-18 (NKJV) 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:20 (NKJV)
Jesus, restore the common cup to us.

19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." Luke 22:19 (NKJV)
Father, help us receive Jesus into our hearts when we receive the host.

1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. 2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. 3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; Acts 6:1-3 (NKJV)
Jesus, bless the ministry of reconciliation that deacons bring to us.

4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." Acts 6:4 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help our priests devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.

3 Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines." 1 Samuel 7:3 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us put away all foreign gods and ideologies and return to the LORD.

121 I have done justice and righteousness; Do not leave me to my oppressors. 122 Be surety for Your servant for good; Do not let the proud oppress me. Psalm 119:121-122 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us do righteousness and be surety for good and do not let the proud oppress this diocese or our bishop.

A Word REceived: Turn to me in the days of refining that lie ahead. "Gold is tested in fire and chosen men in the furnace of humiliation." Ecclesiasticus 2:5 (JB)
