26 Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus. Luke 23:26 (NKJV)
Lord, help us to be thankful whenever we are drafted into your service and asked to bear the cross.

27 And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him. 28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!' Luke 23:27-29 (NKJV)
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for those women in this diocese who follow Jesus to the end.

30 Then they will begin 'to say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!" ' 31 For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?" Luke 23:30-31 (NKJV)
Father, if disaster comes to us, help us turn to Jesus for help.

1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Acts 9:1-2 (NKJV)
Jesus, we too have those who breath out threats against us. Help us to be faithful in this time of trial.

3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" Acts 9:3-4 (NKJV)
Jesus, confront those who would harm your people; shed your light on their path.

5 And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." 6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." Acts 9:5-6 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help all of us ask this question: "Lord, what do you want me to do." Help us heed your answer.

6 Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us. For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few." 7 So his armorbearer said to him, "Do all that is in your heart. Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart." 1 Samuel 14:6-7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, put such trust in in God in our hearts and minds.

1 LORD, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You. 2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, help me offer the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to you day and night.

A Word Received: Turn to me with all your heart and know that I AM able to do what you cannot do.
