2020 08 02

43 The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, "Follow Me." 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." John 1:43-45 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us recognize Jesus for who he is.

46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." John 1:46 (NKJV)
Holy Father, help us all heed the call "to come and see".

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!" John 1:47 (NKJV)
Jesus, please keep our tongues from deceit and guile.

48 Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." John 1:48 (NKJV)
1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. Psalm 139:1-2 (NKJV)

49 Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" John 1:49 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, speak to our souls as you did with Nathaniel.

1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." Romans 4:1-3 (NKJV)
Lord, help us believe in you and be justified by our faith in you.

6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin." Romans 4:6-8 (NKJV)
Father, help us receive this blessing.

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, "How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!" 21 So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. 22 And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor." 23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death. 2 Samuel 6:20-23 (NKJV)
Father, help us share the joy of worshiping you over being controlled by what others may think of us.

1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:1-3 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us exalt and bring honor to your name.
