7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!" Mark 9:7 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us know you and heed your words.
11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, Acts 19:11 (NKJV)
Lord, I would be happy to see "ordinary" miracles.
12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Acts 19:12 (NKJV)
Holy Father, use whatever we possess to further your kingdom work.
13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches." 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?" Acts 19:13-15 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us recognize who we are in christ.
1 It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 11:1 (NKJV)
Father, we pray that our rulers will be at their appointed posts doing the work they are called to.
11 And Uriah said to David, "The ark and Israel and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing." 2 Samuel 11:11 (NKJV)
I pray that there is in our armed forces those who will have the integrity of Uriah the Hittite.
26 When the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. 27 And when her mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. 2 Samuel 11:26-27 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help our rulers repent of misusing their power.
4 Restore us, O God of our salvation, And cause Your anger toward us to cease. 5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? 6 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? 7 Show us Your mercy, LORD, And grant us Your salvation. Psalm 85:4-7 (NKJV)
Restore us, Lord, and let you anger cease from us.
