2020 08 11

1 Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again. Mark 10:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, please teach us as well.

13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16 (NKJV)
Holy Father, help us receive and nurture the children you send us.

13 Then Paul answered, "What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus." 14 So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, "The will of the Lord be done." Acts 21:13-14 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us go forward with Jesus, whatever the cost

1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongs-- O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud. 3 LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph? Psalm 94:1-3 (NKJV)
LORD, how long will the wicked pervert Scripture in your church?

4 They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. 5 They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage. 6 They slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless. 7 Yet they say, "The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand." Psalm 94:4-7 (NKJV)
LORD, they speak insolent things and exalt human wisdom over the wisdom that comes from you.

8 Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise? 9 He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see? 10 He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge? 11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile. Psalm 94:8-11 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, give the leaders of the Episcopal Church good understanding.

12 Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, And teach out of Your law, 13 That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance. 15 But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it. Psalm 94:12-15 (NKJV)
Jesus, bless us with instruction and do not cast us off.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? 17 Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. 18 If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. 19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Psalm 94:16-19 (NKJV)
Jesus, I need only say, "My foot is slipping," and your mercy holds me up. Thank you.

A Word Received: Weep for those who have been cast down and trampled on.
