2020 08 20

28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?" 29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. Mark 12:28-30 (NKJV)
Lord, God, help us put you first in our lives and in our love.

31 And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:31 (NKJV)
Jesus, let our love for you flow into loving our neighbors.

5 For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. Acts 24:5 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us stir up your people as Paul did.

14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. 15 I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. 16 This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men. Acts 24:14-16 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us live and die in the hope of the resurrection as Paul did.

1 Behold, bless the LORD, All you servants of the LORD, Who by night stand in the house of the LORD! 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD. 3 The LORD who made heaven and earth Bless you from Zion! Psalm 134:1-3 (NKJV)
LORD, we bless you. Help us by your Holy Spirit to lift our hands in praise and worship.

15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men's hands. 16 They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; 17 They have ears, but they do not hear; Nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18 Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them. Psalm 135:15-18 (NKJV)
Jesus, set us free from idiolatry and worshiping the work of our hands.

A Word Received: Come to my cleansing blood and be made clean again.
