2020 10 28

14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! Matthew 10:14-15 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please give us ears to hear what Jesus is saying to us. Revive us with your fire, Lord.

9 So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." 10 Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. Revelation 10:9-10 (NKJV)
Jesus, you are worthy. Help me place my trust in you.

21 Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the filth of the nations of the land in order to seek the LORD God of Israel. 22 And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy; for the LORD made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel. Ezra 6:21-22 (NKJV)
Father, help us separate ourselves from the corruption of the surrounding culture and celebrate a new Passover in your name.

1 We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, The deeds You did in their days, In days of old: 2 You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. 3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them. Psalm 44:1-3 (NKJV)
Jesus, it will be by your arm that we shall be set free to worship God as you desire.

A Word Received: Look to me for the future. I hold the keys of salvation in my hand. Do not fear what others fear, but only fear and reverce me.

Prayer Table Report -- Despite very heavy rain during our Monday (Oct. 26) morning Prayer Table ministry, four women braved the wet weather and visited our table -- which was set up on the porch entrance. Please join us in praying for CAROL, NANCY, IRENE and REBECCA, who all had different prayer needs. The Lord knows the details. Each woman also took a free bag of assorted non-perishable food items donated by our church members. No one took any free, clean used clothing this day, but they all said they intend to come to our church's special "Winter Clothing Giveaway" this coming Saturday morning. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, hopefully on the church front lawn in dry, warm weather! Many thanks to all of you parishioners who donated sweaters, pants, coats, hats, socks and gloves for our neighbors here in need.
We also held up in prayer the men who were working on our new roof. They were going up and down three-section ladders in wet, slippery conditions, so we prayed for their safety and well-being.
God bless you all. And thank you for your support of this critical neighborhood ministry. -- Deacon Alan and Deacon MaryCarol
