2020 11 25

23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:23-24 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us seek the kingdom of God, trusting that you will add all that is needed.

25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:25-26 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you that by your cross and resurrection you have done what we in our own strength are unable to do.

27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?" 28 So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first. Matthew 19:27-30 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us leave behind anything that would hinder us entering the kingdom of God.

1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 1 Peter 2:1-3 (NKJV)
Father, in this time of turmoil and division, help us lay aside all that hinders our life in your kingdom.

4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us to be living stones that build up the life of your church.

1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. Psalm 128:1 (NKJV)
LORD, help us walk in your ways.

2 When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Psalm 128:2 (NKJV)
Father, help us share and eat of the labor of our hands.

3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. Psalm 128:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for the 51 years with Jean and the children you gave us.

4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD. Psalm 128:4 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us fear God so that we may be blessed by him.
