2020 12 09

by whom all things were made;
     Jesus, everything we have was made by you, there is nothing that we can have that we can call our own except for your cross and resurrection. It is all a free gift of yours; thank you.

1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. Matthew 23:1-3 (NKJV)
     Holy Spirit, help us to be doers of the word and not hearers only.

4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Matthew 23:4 (NKJV)
     Jesus, help us to be disciples who made other disciples.

2 I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent. Revelation 2:2-5 (NKJV)
     Holy Spirit, restore us to our first love for Jesus.

4 Hear this, you who swallow up the needy, And make the poor of the land fail, Amos 8:4 (NKJV)
     Father, bring your justice and mercy to this land and aid the poor.

11 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. Amos 8:11 (NKJV)
     LORD, we are in the midst of that famine now; have mercy on us and feed us with your word.

15 For in You, O LORD, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, "Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me." Psalm 38:15-16 (NKJV)
     Jesus, do not let our feet slip.

21 Do not forsake me, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me! 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation! Psalm 38:21-22 (NKJV)
     LORD, make haste to help us.

A Word Received: Pray for listening hearts so that you actually hear my word and do it. Hearken to my word and trust me; for I Am the Holy One of Israel.

     DEACON ALAN and DEACON MARYCAROL == (Saint Ann's of Amsterdam, Monday morning Prayer Table report for Mon., Dec. 7) -- We were most pleased to have 10 -- yes, that's right, TEN -- people come to the Prayer Table today on a cold (30 degrees) and windy but dry morning. We have been attempting to hand out bags (for individuals) and boxes (for families) of non-perishable food for our neighbors in need. A good portion of this food was collected and given to us by Boy Scout Troop 48, which meets at our church. Today we also passed out a lot of knitted and crocheted winter clothing like scarves, hats and gloves that were donated by women from Christ Church on State Street in Schenectady. Thank you, scouts and thank you, ladies! Please all join us in prayer for CAROL, NANCY, NAOMI, MADEA, MARIA, JONAS, IRENE and CARRINE, who all stopped by on foot and took clothing and food either for themselves or for family. We also had two men stop their car on Division Street for a box of food for their family. We did not get their names because the light turned green just as I was putting the box in their back seat and people behind them were getting antsy. JONAS was the one visitor whose presence struck us the most. He walked by wearing a backpack and was most thankful to take a few items of the food -- soups, mac and cheese, chili and pasta and sauce. He said he has just been denied food at another church in town and thanked us for the food. "Now I can eat tonight" he said to us as he walked away.
     Thank you for your donations of food and clothing, and most of all thank you for your intercessory prayers. We feel them working on our neighborhood streets! God bless you. Pray for another clear day next Monday! We still have a lot of clothing and food we want to get to our neighbors in need.
