18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money...24 Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.' 26 But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Matthew 25:18...24-27 (NKJV)
Lord, there are so many "one talent" people in your church who produce little or nothing for the kingdom.
9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." Revelation 5:9-10 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for redeeming us when we were lost in sin and unbelief.
12 saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!" Revelation 5:12 (NKJV)
Lord, Jesus, you are worthy; help us follow you.
13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!" Revelation 5:13 (NKJV)
Father, help us join in this chorus of praise.
9 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother.' Zechariah 7:9-10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, let such righteousness flourish in the nation.
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. 2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. 3 He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3 (NKJV)
LORD, help us wait patiently for you to guide us and lift our feet out of the miry clay of being luke-warm.
4 Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:4 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us to be such a person.
