Breathe / What A Friend I've Found - Hillsong Worship

9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Luke 18:9-14 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us understand how little we give you. All our treasures are as nothing in your sight if they are given in pride and arrogance.

Holy Spirit, help us come to the humility of this tax collector. Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family that you have brought me this far (see 2 Samuel 7:18)

Father, I want to come into your presence and worship you. Thank you for sending your Son to make me new and whole. I plead with you for my whole family that they will all come to know you and love and serve you.

22 Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my people? Jeremiah 8:22 (NKJV)
There is a balm to heal the most sin-sick tax collector among us. Thank you Jesus.

There is a balm in Gilead'.

A Word Received: Look to me for justification. Don't look to the praises of man, but rest in the eternal hope I give you.
