VERA LYNN...LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY.

Lord, let your hope and glory shine forth in this land as well.

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Matthew 26:36-39 (NIV)
Jesus, thank you for inviting us to join with you in prayer.

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:40-41 (NIV)
Holy Spirit, help us keep watch with Jesus in prayer.

42 He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." Matthew 26:42 (NIV)
Holy Father, help us drink of the cup you have prepared for us. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Philippians 2:5-7 (NIV)
Lord, let your mind be in us so that we may humble ourselves.

22 "Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:22 (NIV)
Jesus, help me look to you for help in these troubled times.

A Word Received: The times are evil and lies and party spirit are more valued than the peace that only I can give. Keep turning to me.
