1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." Luke 11:1 (NKJV)
Lord, teach us to pray.
2 So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” Luke 11:2 (NKJV)
Father, may your name be held holy by your people and your will done among us as it is in heaven.
3 “Give us day by day our daily bread.” Luke 11:3 (NKJV)
Father, we look to you for our daily provision of food, your Spirit, and your word.
4 “And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one." Luke 11:4 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, give us an eagerness to forgive others, even those who have wronged us. Guard our hearts from temptation.
13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke 11:13 (NKJV)
Father, flood us with your Holy Spirit.
18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; James 1:18-19 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us leave behind all temptations to wrath and speaking evil of others.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me to be a doer of the word, whatever the cost.
11 "Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, 12 lest--when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; 13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; 14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Deuteronomy 8:11-14 (NKJV)
LORD, you have brought me out of bondage into the freedom and hope of the resurrection. Thank you.
A Word Received: I have given you faith, hope and love as your heritage. Live these out day by day and share with others the hope that is in you.
