I had a wonderful visit with my brother and his family in Connecticut this past week.

25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:25-26 (NKJV)
Jesus, guide me in my relaationships with my family.

27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:27 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me bear my cross; I want to be Jesus' disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it-- 29 lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' Luke 14:28-30 (NKJV)
Father, help me count the cost of following Jesus and complete the task you have given me.

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia: 2 Corinthians 1:1 (NKJV)
Lord, raise up an apostle of your choosing to be bishop of Episcopal Diocese of Albany.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Corinthians 1:3 (NKJV)
Father, we need you and your comfort and mercies.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Corinthians 1:3 (NKJV)
Father, comfort us in the hard times so that we can comfort others.

2 You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us to be faithful in speaking and sharing your word.

A Word Received: Return to me with all your heart.
