Come, Christians, Join to Sing

'There is a balm in Gilead'.

18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said: "Who am I, O Lord GOD? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far? 2 Samuel 7:18 (NKJV)
Thank you, LORD, for all that you have done for me and my family.

27 Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you." Matthew 17:27 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for the fish you hve sent so that we could pay our taxes.

4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net." 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. Luke 5:4-6 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us launch out into the deep and let down our nets to bring in the whole of the catch you have prepared for us.

5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No." 6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. John 21:5-9 (NKJV)
Father, help us follow Jesus' instuctions about where and how we should fish to bring in the full catch. Help us by your Holy Spirit to ask for the help of others.

The Lord's my Shepherd - Stuart Townend [with lyrics]

A Word Received: You have a choice: you can fish all by yourself or you can fish in the ocmpany of my disciples. Seek my guidance every time you go out to fish for the right choice of companions.
