2016 10 31

Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people-- saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." Revelation 14:6-7 (NKJV)
Father, please help me fear you and the day of your judgment and worship you and proclaim the everlasting gospel.

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me have the patience of the saints.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' " "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them." Revelation 14:13 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me die in you and enter into your eternal rest.

Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD; for the day of the LORD is at hand, for the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests. Zephaniah 1:7 (NKJV)
      LORD, I accept your invitation.

"And it shall come to pass at that time that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and punish the men who are settled in complacency, who say in their heart, 'The LORD will not do good, nor will He do evil.' Zephaniah 1:12 (NKJV)
LORD, search your church and set it free from complacency.

Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. Psalm 29:1-2 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me give my all to Jesus and worship him in the beauty of holiness.

The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NKJV)
Father, please give me your strength and peace.

God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:1-4 (NKJV)
Lord, there is preat partiality in our land; help the poor, the fatherless, the afflicted, the needy. Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

A word received: I Am judge and I will have my way.

"Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32 (NKJV)
Father, help me to rejoice without fear in your good pleasure.

"and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately." Luke 12:36 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me open to you whenever you come to visit me.

And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?" Luke 12:42 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me to be a faithful and wise steward.

"And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:47-48 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, so much of your church is unprepared for your return; have mercy on us.

Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalm 103:1-5 (NKJV)
Father, help me enter into all your blessings and be renewed by your Holy Spirit.

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them. Psalm 103:17-18 (NKJV)
Help me and all our children keep your covenant and remember your commandments to do your will, Father.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! Psalm 150:6 (NKJV)
LORD, while I have breath, help me praise you.

A word received: Pray for the generations to come -- that they will be protected from the evil one.

And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me lay aside distractions and anxieties and seek the better part as Mary did.

Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." Matthew 15:32 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us to have your compassion on the hungry and the homeless.

"Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?' Matthew 18:32-33 (NKJV)
Father, please help me to have compassion on my debtors as you have had compassion on me.

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:27-28 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me take my appointed place in the Body of Christ.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1 (NKJV)
Lord, let my speech be flavored with love.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me have the love of Jesus for both presidential candidates.

"I will stretch out My hand against Judah, and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, the names of the idolatrous priests with the pagan priests -- Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those who worship and swear oaths by the LORD, but who also swear by Milcom; those who have turned back from following the LORD, and have not sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him." Zephaniah 1:4-6 (NKJV)
LORD, help me seek you and inquire of you day by day. Please give me the gift of discernment so that I can distinguish the true from the false.

Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! Psalm 117:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, I praise you and bless you. Thank you for your merciful kindness and your enduring truth. and love.

Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You. Psalm 139:12 (NKJV)
Jesus, let your light shine in my darkness.

A word received: I will lead you by the hand; cling to me.

"But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." Luke 12:20-21 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us store up spiritual riches for eternal life.

"Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing." Luke 12:22-23 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me lay all my worries about the future at the feet of Jesus.

"But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you." Luke 12:31 (NKJV)
Father, help me seek your kingdom day by day.

"All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear." Revelation 13:8-9 (NKJV)
Jesus, please write my name in your Book of Life.

Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5 (NKJV)
LORD, I wait on you. Thank you for your victory over sin and death; win the victory in me.

Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. Psalm 25:12 (NKJV)
Jesus, teach me in whatever way you choose.

Look on my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins. Psalm 25:18 (NKJV)
Jesus, look on me and forgive all my sins.

But I am poor and needy; Yet the LORD thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God. Psalm 40:17 (NKJV)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me acknowledge Jesus in all my ways and place my trust in him. Father, give me understanding as I place my trust in you.

[Hypocrit comes from the Greek word used for an actor.] In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." Luke 12:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, protect me from acting the part of a disciple of Jesus rather than living as his disciple.

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV)
Father, thank you that I am forever in your sight.

"For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say." Luke 12:12 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, teach me in my hour of need.

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. Revelation 12:10 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you that my accuser has been cast down by your blood; let me never believe his accusations.

Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good tidings, Who proclaims peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, perform your vows. For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off. Nahum 1:15 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for bringing me good news and for proclaiming peace to me.

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; I shall not slip. Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my mind and my heart. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth. I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, nor will I go in with hypocrites. I have hated the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked. Psalm 26:1-5 (NKJV)
O LORD, you are my integrity -- my righteousness is as filthy rags in your sight. Help me to walk in your truth and not go in with the hypocrites nor sit with the wicked.

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 130:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, hear my cry and guide me in voting.

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning -- yes, more than those who watch for the morning. Psalm 130:5-6 (NKJV)
LORD, I wait on you for your guidance.

Then the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also? Luke 11:39-40 (NKJV)
Lord, set us free from outward "niceness" and cleanse our hearts by your Holy Spirit.

But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Luke 11:42 (NKJV)
Father, help us love you in heart and deed. Don't let us settle for mere outward observance.

The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 (NKJV)
LORD, this is a day of trouble; be our stronghold and our trust.

Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your saints shout for joy. Psalm 132:9 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, clothe our clergy with righteousness so that we may shout for joy.

The LORD who made heaven and earth bless you from Zion! Psalm 134:3 (NKJV)

But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" Luke 11:28 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help me hear, keep and do your word.

"The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here." Luke 11:32 (NKJV)
Jesus, we have become an evil generation and immersed ourelves in sex, drugs and violence. Have mercy on up; help us to repent and cause the light of the gospel to shine forth in our lives.

saying: "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned. Revelation 11:17 (NKJV)
Jesus, come and rule and reign in our hearts.

The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth." Revelation 11:18 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, in this time of great anger and wrath, bless your faithful servants who fear your name, and deal with those who pollute and destroy the earth.

Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you." Jonah 3:1-2 (NKJV)
Father, if you have told me to do something the first time and I Ignored it, tell me again as you did Jonah so that I might relent and do your word.

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. Jonah 3:7-10 (NKJV)
Father, raise up rulers in this nation who will lead us in repentance as did the king of Ninevah.

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. So he prayed to the LORD, and said, "Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!" Then the LORD said, "Is it right for you to be angry?" Jonah 4:1-4 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, set us free of our unrighteious anger and show us your mercy.

"And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left--and much livestock?" Jonah 4:11 (NKJV)
LORD, have pity on us, for we cannot tell our right hand from our left.

Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown. I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High. Psalm 7:14-17 (NKJV)
Lord, I pray for your mercy and your justice in our land. Help us return to you with praise and thanksgiving.

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9 (NKJV)
Lord, baptize us afresh in your living water.

A word received: if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. Luke 11:17 (NKJV)
Jesus, please restore unity to your body the church.

"He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters." Luke 11:23 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us be a church that gathers.

"I went down to the moorings of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever; yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, into Your holy temple." Jonah 2:6-7 (NKJV)
LORD, I was plunged in grief and you have brought me up; thank you. Help me to remember you at all times and places.

He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness. Psalm 9:8 (NKJV)
Jesus, bring us to your righteousness before the day of judgement. "The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You." Psalm 9:9-10 (NKJV)

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. Arise, O LORD, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O LORD, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Psalm 9:17-20 (NKJV)
O LORD, help us to know this as we prepare for the election.

Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Psalm 73:1-3 (NKJV)
Father, bring us to purity of heart and keep our feet from stumbling.

If I had said, "I will speak thus," behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children. When I thought how to understand this, it was too painful for me -- until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end. Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. Psalm 73:15-18 (NKJV)
LORD, you judgments are true and you set the wicked on slippery ground. LORD, thank you that one good thing has come out of this election: that men may not misuse women with impunity.

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:18 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help let go of every bondage I am holding on to.

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for pouring out your life blood for me on the cross. Thank you for being broken for me on the cross. Thank you for breaking into my life. Lord, a broken and contrite heart you will not despise.

Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me." Jonah 1:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, let your word come to us and give us the grace to go where you send us.

So the captain came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish." Jonah 1:6 (NKJV)
LORD, awaken your people to prayer to you.

Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to the LORD and took vows. Jonah 1:16 (NKJV)
Father, please help us fear you. Accept our sacrifices to you and help us keep our vows to you.

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Psalm 23:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, restore the soul of this nation and lead us in the paths of righteousness for your name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." Luke 11:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, teach us to pray as well. Thank you.

So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Luke 11:2 (NKJV)
Father, we pray that your name will be kept holy. Father, we are undone because we dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips that daily speak profanity. As you did with Isaiah, touch our lips and cleanse us.

Give us day by day our daily bread. Luke 11:3 (NKJV)
Father, you are our provider; carry us through this time.

And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Luke 11:4 (NKJV)
Father, by your Holy Spirit, bring us to a recognition of our sins and to a true repentance. Help us forgive others so that we may be forgiven. Please deliver us from the power of the evil one.

"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:9-10 (NKJV)
Jesus, bring us to that place where we daily ask, seek, and knock to enter into your provision for us.

And he said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings." Revelation 10:11 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, raise up true prophets in this nation to lead us to repentance and back to you.

Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. Micah 7:7 (NKJV)
LORD, I look to you for salvation.

Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from days of old. Micah 7:18-20 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for your loving mercy.

O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, this has become a dry and thirsty land. Have mercy on us and lead us to living water.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)
LORD, please help me enter your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise.

For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:5 (NKJV)
Even in the midst of the foulness of this campaign we give you thanks that mercy and truth endure for all generations.

Jesus, you came to us bearing the image of the Father so that we might know his love for us. You are one with him and there is no division between you. Please help us by your Holy Spirit to know the unity and character that you share with the Father.
by whom all things were made;
Jesus, everything we have was made by you, there is nothing that we can have that we can call our own except for your cross and resurrection. It is all a free gift of yours; thank you.

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. Luke 10:38 (NKJV)
Jesus, I welcome you into my home.

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. Luke 10:39 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me sit at the feet of Jesus and receive his instruction into my heart.

But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." Luke 10:40 (NKJV)
Father, help me set aside the distractions of life and sit with Mary at Jesus' feet.

And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me take your rebuke to heart.

And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:21 (NKJV)
Lord, even now as we look at the evil which has come upon us, help us repent and turn to you.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 (NKJV)
LORD, let this be on our hearts as we go to vote. LORD, lead us to springs of living water.

"You shall sow, but not reap; you shall tread the olives, but not anoint yourselves with oil; and make sweet wine, but not drink wine. For the statutes of Omri are kept; all the works of Ahab's house are done; and you walk in their counsels, that I may make you a desolation, and your inhabitants a hissing. Therefore you shall bear the reproach of My people." Micah 6:15-16 (NKJV)
Lord, in your mercy, spare us from the desolation we deserve. "O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure." Psalm 6:1 (NKJV)

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. Psalm 6:8-9 (NKJV)
LORD, you have heard the voice of my weeping; thank you.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7 (NKJV)
LORD, I trust in you; help me remember your name at all times.

ST. ANN'S AMSTERDAM PRAYER TABLE REPORT -- (Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, 10-11 a.m. on the lawn in front of our church. Windy and damp but NOT raining. We were able to stay outside. James Bryant and Deacon Alan presiding at His table today.)

For about the fourth week in a row, a young mother who had never been to the table came to have a child blessed. This was her baby boy, PAVRE. This seems to be a case of "word getting around" that we give blessings for babies and young children. It is a wonderful privilege to bless a child! ...

Please pray for HELEN, another first-time visitor who obviously has heard about us. She came for prayer only. She is quite sick and facing surgery before she drives to Florida for the winter. Please join us in prayer for her. She is very afraid of the operation.

SCENES, REQUESTS -- A lot of people came this day, but many more will come in the next two weeks because people in our neighborhood are running out of money near the end of the month and are grateful for anything we can give them to eat. You donations of canned goods, mac and cheese, etc., are greatly needed and appreciated. ... Please go through your closets and see if you have any clean, used winter coats you no longer want or need. The weather is getting colder and the need is great. That coat hanging in the back of your closet that you no longer wear just might help some neighbor get through the coming cold winter. God bless you all!

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Luke 10:25 (NKJV)
Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have tested you.

He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" So he answered and said, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' " And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." Luke 10:26-28 (NKJV)
Father, help me love and honor you with all that I have and am.

But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Luke 10:29 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me learn who my neighbors are.

Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.' So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." Luke 10:30-37 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me show mercy to those who are in need. Help me have the compassion of the Samaritan.

And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury On the nations that have not heard." Micah 5:15 (NKJV)
LORD, we have not been listening to you; have mercy on us.

"I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the baskets. You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Psalm 81:6-7 (NKJV)
Hear and answer when I call to you, LORD. Help me in the day of loneliness and trouble.

"But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels. Psalm 81:11-12 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, help us heed your voice -- do not give us over to our own stubborn hearts.

I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, I love you. Dad, thank you for caring for me.

Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. Psalm 116:7 (NKJV)
LORD, thank you for your bounty and your rest.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me die to myself.

A word received: Place your hope in me. I Am able.

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." Luke 10:17 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me live in the power of Jesus' name.

"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:20 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me daily live in the hope of the resurrection.

Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it." Luke 10:23-24 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for the things I have gotten to see.

Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest. Micah 3:12 (NKJV)
Lord, your church and your people are be plowed as a field and everything is being turned over as furrows. Have mercy on us.

Many nations shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Micah 4:2 (NKJV)
Father, teach us your ways so that we may walk in your paths.

He shall judge between many peoples, and rebuke strong nations afar off; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. Micah 4:3 (NKJV)
LORD, we cry out to you for the people of Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, that they would beat their swords into plowshares.

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11 (NKJV)

Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Luke 10:2 (NKJV)

Jesus, help me hear you and all those you send to me.

And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 7:14-17 (NKJV)
Lord, I long to be in that great throng around your throne giving you praise and honor. Shepherd me day by day and wipe away ever tear.

And as day was about to dawn, Paul implored them all to take food, saying, "Today is the fourteenth day you have waited and continued without food, and eaten nothing. Therefore I urge you to take nourishment, for this is for your survival, since not a hair will fall from the head of any of you." And when he had said these things, he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all; and when he had broken it he began to eat. Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves. Acts 27:33-36 (NKJV)
Thank you for wordsof encouragement when everything seems lost.

And the soldiers' plan was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim away and escape. But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live." But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. Acts 28:3-5 (NKJV)

Now they sin more and more, and have made for themselves molded images, idols of their silver, according to their skill; all of it is the work of craftsmen. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. Luke 8:43-44 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us touch the hem of Jesus garment.

Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace." Luke 8:47-48 (NKJV)

And Paul said, "I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains." Acts 26:29 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us find the freedom over circumstances that Paul had.

There the centurion found an Alexandrian ship sailing to Italy, and he put us on board. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!" Luke 8:28 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus. when we confront the work of the evil one in another, there will be pain in the separation. Help us persevere until the demonic has been driven out.

Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed. Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. And He got into the boat and returned. Luke 8:35-37 (NKJV)
What is our choice: rejoicing in seeing the man clothed and in his right mind, or as he was before, captive to evil. Help us, Jesus, rejoice in the work that you are doing.

"Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you." And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us tell our families the great things God has done in our lives.

And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers. Acts 26:6 (NKJV)
Lord, if I am to be condemned, let it be for my hope in the resurrection.

"at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' So I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' " Acts 26:13-18 (NKJV)
Jesus, speak to those who persecute your people as you spoke to Saul.

"Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance". Acts 26:19-20 (NKJV)
Father, let us not be disobedient to the heavenly vision you give us.

"Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians, And oil is carried to Egypt. Hosea 12:1 (NKJV)
LORD, show us where we have made pacts with evil and help us repent of that.

The LORD reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! Psalm 97:1 (NKJV)

Father, keep my heart steadfast so that I fear no evil tidings.

The wicked will see it and be grieved; He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked shall perish. Psalm 112:10 (NKJV)
Jesus, let the desires of the wicked perish.

Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." Matthew 15:25-27 (NKJV)
Jesus, I will gladly take whatever crumbs fall from your table.

Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. Matthew 15:28 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, thank you for faith that moves mountains.

To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now. 1 Corinthians 4:11-13 (NKJV)
Father, I let you be my judge rather than the world. Help me accept the difficulties in my life and continue to labor on. When I am reviled, help me bless; when persecuted, help me endure, when defamed, help me entreat you. Help me continue to share the gospel no matter what by circumstances.

Therefore I urge you, imitate me. 1 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me imitate Paul as he imitates Christ.

"When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son. Hosea 11:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you that you know what it is to grow up in a refugee family; please help the many refugees who are in need today. Show us our part in helping them for your sake.

"How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I set you like Zeboiim? My heart churns within Me; My sympathy is stirred. I will not execute the fierceness of My anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim. For I am God, and not man, the Holy One in your midst; and I will not come with terror. Hosea 11:8-9 (NKJV)
Thank you for your mercy, LORD.

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! Psalm 113:2 (NKJV)
LORD, blessed by your name forever.

He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes-- with the princes of His people. He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!Psalm 113:7-9 (NKJV)
LORD, lift up the poor and needy among us and show us our part in doing this.

A word received: Walk with me day by day. I will lead you by the hand.

But He answered and said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it." Luke 8:21 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, give me ears to hear and a heart to do God's word.

Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side of the lake." And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we are perishing!" Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, "Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!" Luke 8:22-25 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, we are in the midst of a great tempest in the church; rebuke the wind and raging seas, and help us come into your peace.

So the next day, when Agrippa and Bernice had come with great pomp, and had entered the auditorium with the commanders and the prominent men of the city, at Festus' command Paul was brought in. Acts 25:23 (NKJV)
Father, this merely a "show trial" to provide entertainment; have mercy on us and don't let our system of justice be perverted in this way.

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, till He comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12 (NKJV)
LORD, send the rain of your Holy Spirit upon us and break up our fallow ground so that we may sow in righteousness and reap in mercy.

Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. Psalm 98:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help our singing rejoice in your deeds.

I will praise You with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing praises to You. Psalm 138:1 (NKJV)
LORD, give me an undivided heart to praise you.

In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. Psalm 138:3 (NKJV)
Father, give me strength for my soul.

Though the LORD is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. Psalm 138:6 (NKJV)
      Jesus, I am
poor and lowly; thank you for regarding me.

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands. Psalm 138:8 (NKJV)
A word received: I will bring you to holiness aand cleanse your soul.

Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, Luke 8:1 (NKJV)
Jesus, come through every city and village in our area with preaching that brings the glad tidings of the kingdom of God.

and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities--Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance. Luke 8:2-3 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for all those women you have chosen to follow Jesus and minister to him. Raise up more vocations for the Sisters of St. Mary and the Daughters of the King.

"A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold." When He had said these things He cried, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Luke 8:5-8 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, prepare the soil of my heart to receive the good seed of your word.

"But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience." Luke 8:15 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help me bear good fruit with patience.

"I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved. Hosea 9:10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me recognize when the things I love are abominations and repent of them.

My God will cast them away, Because they did not obey Him; And they shall be wanderers among the nations. Hosea 9:17 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us recognize the cost of going after what you detest.

Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; And to You the vow shall be performed. Psalm 65:1 (NKJV)
LORD, help me keep my vows.

Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them. Psalm 65:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for providing the atonement for my sins.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name; the righteous shall surround me, for You shall deal bountifully with me." Psalm 142:7 (NKJV)
LORD, bring my soul out of prison.

A word received: Cry out to me for my little ones who are being cut down and destroyed.

SCENES: Last week we gave blessings to three little children who came, and word must have gotten around because this week two new young mothers brought their young babies around for a blessing. All of the food donated and purchased for the table this week was distributed and totally gone in about 10 minutes by the grateful 30 or 40 people who came. ...

And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" Luke 7:19 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me continue to trust and believe in Jesus even when I am deeply discouraged.

Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me." Luke 7:22-23 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me recognize the lives you transform and renew my faith by the evidence of their lives.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him. Luke 7:30 (NKJV)
Holy Father, help me to do your will for me.

And the Lord said, "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like? They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: 'We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.' For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by all her children." Luke 7:31-35 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us repent of expecting you to dance to our tune.

And he called for two centurions, saying, "Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night; Acts 23:23 (NKJV)
Jesus, please cause government everywhere to protect your witnesses.

"They set up kings, but not by Me; They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them. From their silver and gold They made idols for themselves-- That they might be cut off. Hosea 8:4 (NKJV)
LORD, help us repent of setting up kings and rulers after our own evil desires.

"They sow the wind, and reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no bud; it shall never produce meal. If it should produce, aliens would swallow it up. Hosea 8:7 (NKJV)
LORD, we are sowing the wind and reaping the results. Have mercy on us.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; Psalm 1:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me to choose the counsel of the godly.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, plant me beside living waters so that my soul if refreshed.

Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Psalm 33:1 (NKJV)
LORD, help us rejoice in your righteousness.

The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. Psalm 33:13-15 (NKJV)
      Jesus, refashion my heart.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19 (NKJV)

And He spoke a parable to them: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch? Luke 6:39 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, I pray for those who are blinded to your word in Scripture, that they will not lead others astray and that their eyes and hearts will be opened to your word.

"For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit." Luke 6:43 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, I prayer for the Holiness Conference this week at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center that it will bear good fruit in our lives.

"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?" Luke 6:46 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us live into your Lordship and do your word.

"He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great." Luke 6:48-49 (NKJV)
Jesus, many all around me are being swept away in the storm; help me build only on you -- you are my rock of salvation.

Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council, said, "Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day." And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth. Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit to judge me according to the law, and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?" And those who stood by said, "Do you revile God's high priest?" Acts 23:1-4 (NKJV)
High priest or not, we are all called to stand before the judgment seat of God and his Word made flesh.

But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, "Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome." Acts 23:11 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for those times when you give us words of assurance.

They make a king glad with their wickedness, and princes with their lies. Hosea 7:3 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us repent of raising up rulers after our own wicked hearts and desires.

They are all hot, like an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings have fallen. None among them calls upon Me. Hosea 7:7 (NKJV)
Father, raise up rulers over us who will daily call upon you.

God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Psalm 82:1-2 (NKJV)
Father, have mercy on us for we have shown partiality to the wicked.

Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:3-4 (NKJV)
Father, please help us live out your word to us.

The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11 (NKJV)
LORD, give us strength and bless us with your peace.

A word received: Come to me. I AM your Father and I long for you to return to me.

A Prayer of Confession for America from Daniel 9

Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. (Daniel 9:3)
LORD, move our hearts to come before you in humility to pray.

And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant and mercy with those who love him, and with those who keep his commandments, (Daniel 9:4)
LORD, please give us hearts made pure by confession. You are great and awesome and you keep your covenant and mercy with those who love you and keep your commandments. Help us walk in your ways.

we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from your precepts and your judgments. (Daniel 9:5)
Father, we in the America have sinned and committed iniquity and have done wickedly and rebelled by departing from your precepts and judgments.

Neither have we heeded your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land. (Daniel 9:6)
Holy Spirit, we have ignored what you have said through your prophets who speak even now to the leaders of our nation.

O Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us shame of face, as it is this day--to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which you have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against you. (Daniel 9:7)
Jesus, we have sinned against your righteousness in this country because of the unfaithfulness which we have committed against you.

O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against you. (Daniel 9:8 )
O Lord, to us belongs shame of face: to our officials and church and lay leaders because we have sinned against you. Bring us back to you.

To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him. (Daniel 9:9)
Jesus, you are fountain of mercy and forgiveness even though we have rebelled against you. Wash us clean by your blood.

We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. (Daniel 9:10)
LORD, we have not obeyed your voice; we have not walked in your laws which you have set before us by your servants the prophets in the Scriptures.

Yes, all Israel has transgressed your law, and has departed so as not to obey your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against him. (Daniel 9:11)
Yes, Father, America has transgressed your law and has departed from the words you have spoken; therefore we are under judgment because we have sinned against you. Have mercy on us for the sake of your son Jesus.

And he has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem. (Daniel 9:12)
Jesus, the present cultural wars in America are a sign of your great displeasure and judgment on us. Turn our hearts back to you and your ways.

As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand your truth. (Daniel 9:13)
Holy Spirit, please help us turn from our iniquities and understand your truth so that we cry out to you in Spirit and in Truth.

Therefore the LORD has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the LORD our God is righteous in all the works which he does, though we have not obeyed his voice. (Daniel 9:14)
Jesus, the division and discord in America are a sign of our disobedience to your word; help us return to your righteousness ways.

And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made yourself a name, as it is this day--we have sinned, we have done wickedly! (Daniel 9:15)
Father, bring us out of the house of bondage as you did the children of Israel -- we have sinned, we have done wickedly!

O Lord, according to all your righteousness, I pray, let your anger and your fury be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people are a reproach to all those around us. (Daniel 9:16)
Lord, in your righteousness, let your anger and your fury be turned away from America; because for our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, America and your people are a reproach to all those around us.

Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord's sake cause your face to shine on your sanctuary, which is desolate. (Daniel 9:17)
Father, hear the prayer of your servants and for Jesus' sake cause your face to shine on your sanctuary which is desolate.

O my God, incline your ear and hear; open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by your name; for we do not present our supplications before you because of our righteous deeds, but because of your great mercies. (Daniel 9:18 )
O my God, incline your ear and hear, open your eyes and see our desolation, and the church which is called by your name; our righteousness is as filthy rags but we plead your great mercy.

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for your own sake, my God, for your city and your people are called by your name. (Daniel 9:19)
O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for your own sake, my God, for your church and your people are called by your name.

2016 10 02

Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, "Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter." And the king was sorry; nevertheless, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her. So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. Matthew 14:7-10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, restrain us from folly and oaths uttered in haste.

And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, give me that same determination to know nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 1 Corinthians 2:4 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me speak in demonstration of your Holy Spirit and his power.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12 (NKJV)
Father, please help me know what you have freely give to me.

For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me be like Job and receive your instruction.

"The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark; I will pour out my wrath on them like water. Hosea 5:10 (NKJV)
Bring the leaders of the churches who remove the ancient landmarks of faith to repentance.

Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. Hosea 6:1 (NKJV)
LORD, help us return to you for the healing only you can give.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6 (NKJV)
Jesus, giv e me your heart of mercy.

Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! Psalm 117:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, help me abide in you enduring truth.

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it. Psalm 139:1-6 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for loving me even when you know all my failings.

If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You. Psalm 139:11-12 (NKJV)
Father, thank you that I can walk by the light of your Holy Spirit.
