Mark 8:31 New King James Version
31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Jesus, you are still being rejected by many of the elders in our day.

Mark 8:32-33 New King James Version
32 He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Holy Spirit, please help us to be mindful of the things of God.

Mark 8:34 New King James Version
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Father, help me deny myself and come after Jesus.

Mark 8:35-36 New King James Version
35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Jim Elliot, missionary martyr: "He is no fool who gives what he cannnot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."

Mark 8:37-38 New King James Version
37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
LORD, this is an adulterous and sinful generation. Have mercy on us and revive us.

Romans 8:31 New King James Version
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Thank you, God, for being for us and blessing us.

Romans 8:32 New King James Version
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Father, you will provide all that is needed. Thank you.

Psalm 16:1-3 New King James Version
1 Preserve[a] me, O God, for in You I put my trust. 2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” 3 As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
Holy spirit, thank you for the weekly fellowship with the saints.

A Word Received: Come into my presence with thanksgiving in your heart.
