Doing the prayer table with Chuck Rinaldo at the City Mission:
Benjamin (young man) -- He came storming into the table next to us at the Schenectady City Mission and immediately started arguing with two friends of his. It got to the point where one of them got up and left the table. Benjamin continued at such a level with the remaining friend that Chuck went over and got Dan (who coordinates the community meal) to intervene. Dan got Benjamin calmed down some and suggested that Benjamin come over to the prayer table, which he did. We had a long (20 minutes or more) conversation with Benjamin. He was badly hurt by the way others had taken advantage of him. We talked with him and led him to confess his sins to Jesus and accept him as Lord and Savior. He still had a very angry countenance. We showed him 1 John 1:9 and told him that he was now clean, there was a radical change in his whole countenance. We have never seen such a visible working of grace penetrating someone's heart like this. We could feel the Holy Spirit moving in him. We led him to forgive those who had hurt him. At one point he asked, "Isn't Jesus still pissed at me for the things I have done?" We told him that Jesus was praying for him right then. He told us how thankful he was that we could explain all this in words he could understand. When he was done, his two friends came to him and we asked them to forgive one another, which they did. Philippians 1:27-30 New King James Version
27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,
Holy Spirit, please help us strive together to make Jesus known.

28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
Jesus, set us free from fear of those who oppose the gospel.

29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
Father, help us endure suffering for the sake of the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8 New King James Version
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
Jesus, help us clearly tell other what you have done for us.

A Word Received: Let me come into your heart with my Holy Spirit and with his power.
