John 15:8-17 New King James Version

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
     Jesus, please help by your Holy Spirit to bear much fruit and bring glory to your Father.

9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
     Father, please help us love with your love.

10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
     Holy Spirit, please help us keep the commandments.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
     Jesus, give us overflowing joy that surpasses all happiness. Happiness comes and goes, but joy is a work of your Spirit.

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
     Jesus, help us love with your love.

13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
     Holy Spirit, help us lay down our lives for one another.

14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
     Jesus, thank you for your friendship.

15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
     Jesus, thank you for sharing with us the kingdom of God.

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
     Galatians 5:22-23 New King James Version
     22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
     Holy Father, help us do what Jesus commands.
