Psalm 1 New King James Version
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
     Holy Spirit, help me reject all false counsel.

Nor stands in the path of sinners,
     Jesus, keep me from walking in the way of sin and the advice of sinners.

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
     Holy Father, help me avoid those who live to bring scorn on others.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
     LORD, help me delight in your word in Scripture.

And in His law he meditates day and night.
     Holy Spirit, help me think on your word day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
     Jesus, you have planted me at various times by rivers of living water and in dry and barren lands. Help me rejoice in you wherever you choose to plant me.

But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
     LORD, we are seeing much chaff blown away in our day; and more is going to come.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
