Luke 5:1-8 New King James Version
1 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.
Jesus, use our work for your kingdom purposes.
4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
Jesus, at your bidding help us launch out into the deep.
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
Holy Spirit, help me go forward even when I am discouraged by previous failures.
6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
Jesus, fruitfulness in ministry comes from you; help me remember that.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
Father, help us be in awe of your work.
1 Peter 3:7 New King James Version
7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
Help me, Jesus, honor my wife.
Psalm 15 New King James Version
15 Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; 3 He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; 4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5 He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
Father, help me abide in your tabernacle.
Psalm 16:1 New King James Version
1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
A Word Received: Turn to me for strength to endure.
